Housing Restoration and Production

Community Corp. increases and improves Santa Monica’s affordable housing stock. Since our inception in 1982, the Housing Restoration and Production Department has managed the rehabilitation and construction of nearly 1,700 affordable homes. We oversee the acquisition of property, develop conceptual proposals, secure financing, and manage construction. In all of our properties, we strive to construct housing that is at the forefront of architectural innovation and environmental sustainability.  We preserve historic buildings and construct new housing that is sensitive to the surrounding area’s scale and style, working to improve neighborhoods and strengthen communities.
